The Inherent Resolve Campaign Medal was a campaign of military operations against the Islamic State terrorist organization.
To be eligible, service members must have served for 30 consecutive days or 60 nonconsecutive days, in the areas of Iraq, Syria, and the waters and air space surrounding those countries, up to 12 nautical miles.
Criteria include combat engagement; or being wounded, injured or killed and medically evacuated while on official duty during the campaign
The Inherent Resolve Campaign medal was established by an executive order and secretary of defense memo on March 30, 2016.
